John H. Lamensdorf: John Hunt Lamensdorf of Sarasota, residing in New York City, lost his life suddenly on May 28, 2009, in Monticello, Ga., in a tragic accident while assisting a friend on a film shoot. John graduated on May 13, 2009, from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television Production. As a junior, John spent a semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland, and directed a music video for the song "Up and Down the Hill" by the Irish band The House of Cosy Cushions. The video has been widely viewed in Europe and the States. As a senior, John was accepted into the prestigious "Advanced Production" course led by famed screenwriter Ezra Sacks. His screenplay "Only Criminals" and subsequent movie was in post-production at the time of his death and has been completed by John's close friend José Andrés Cardona, who served as John's cinematographer and co-producer. Tisch Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell relayed that John was a "shining star" and that his movie was felt to be a "brilliant piece of filmmaking." John was a prolific reader, extraordinary writer and talented musician. He was exceptional in guitar and composing and an avid lover of opera. (taken from John's obituary)
