Imran J. Khan is an award-winning writer, director, and editor. As a director, his short films have played at numerous film festivals in North America garnering him praise for his storytelling abilities, comedic voice, and exploration of themes inspired by his hyphenated background.

Khan got his start in filmmaking at the University of California, Davis where he pursued a degree in Biological Systems Engineering while making viral online comedy sketch videos revolving around his distinct cultural perspective as a Pakistani American. After receiving his B.S. in 2008, Khan held a career in medical devices while simultaneously making short films in his free time. In 2012, he decided to pursue filmmaking professionally and enrolled in the New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia MFA Film program in Singapore.

During his time at Tisch Asia, Khan honed his skills as a writer/director and studied under esteemed filmmakers Todd Solondz and Frank Oz. In his second year of the program, he wrote and directed "Timmy II", a short film that screened at Oscar qualifying film festivals and was awarded First Prize Best Comedy Short at Rhode Island International Film festival. In 2015, Khan directed a spec commercial entitled, "7up: Feels Good to be You," which was awarded Best Commercial at HollyShorts Film Festival and LA Femme Film Festival.

Khan has a number of projects currently in development. "The Drone and the Kid," a short film shot on location in Lahore, Pakistan, is currently in post-production. In the film, a Pakistani boy finds the camera from a crashed U.S. military drone and is able to communicate with the American drone operator on the other side. Additionally, Khan is co-writing a feature length script, "The Smugger" which chronicles the journey of a first time human smuggler across the Mediterranean Sea.
